The Airbus A400M has been designated the rather boring name ‘Atlas’ for when it enters service with the RAF in late 2014. Airbus pilots call her the Grizzly. I’m with Airbus on that one!

Seen here with the Red Arrows in what is a unique flypast at RIAT 2013 at RAF Fairford.

Sony DSC-HX1

My pictures are taken with a Sony DSC-HX1. What you see is pretty much what comes from the memory card, with maybe a touch of rotation and or cropping.
I probably wouldn’t be taking so many pictures if it weren’t for the camera. It has been worth every penny as it has captured some great memories since I got it in 2009.
Feel free to comment on any of the pictures. I’m all for learning how to improve.

Excellent shot – but isn’t there a Red missing? Congrats on your feature!

  • Thanks, Colin. There are actually 2 reds missing from this. There were actually 10 up with the A400M. But I was trying to take the sight in and also get a picture. It was the first time such a flypast had been done with the A400M and who knows when it may happen again?
