Dusk In The Dunes
Shot on a vintage Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 520/2 folding camera which shoots 6×9 (actually 6×10) on 120 rollfilm. The model I have is about as basic as you can get technically. It’s from the thirties and the most basic version of this model. It doesn’t even have a viewfinder. Composing the picture is done through a prism finder the size of a small mosquito mounted on top of the lens. Zone focussing only. The lens has no DOF scale and markings for 2, 3, 5, 10 and infinity. The lens is a f/6.3 Novar Anastigmat triplet lens. These lenses are not particularly sharp but they have a special kind of tonality and look to them that I can’t help loving.
