Black & White Version
July 25th 2010 saw me at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway for the 2010 Heritage Bus and Rail Gala. It was a lovely day and there was a good turnout.
CDB 206 in North Western Road Car Company (206) livery leads AJA 162 (372) into the yard. 206 is a 1949 Bristol L5G with a 35-seat Weymann body whilst 372 is a 1938 L5G with a Burlingham body fitted in 1950. 372 is Petrol whilst the later 206 is Diesel.

The processing has given this a lovely old world feel to it, the only thing in the photo that gives away that it wasn’t taken 50 years ago is the truck cab in the background (is it a Volvo? I like the new Volvos…) and the photo has a lovely period attraction.
Not sure whether I prefer the colour or mono version, the colour one is vibrant and beautiful, but this has an attraction all of its own…
Thanks, there was not much I could do about the haulage business across the road :)

This works really well and is very convincing in my view, set against the terraced housing makes if feel very authentic.
Thanks David, the bus owners wanted a full colour version but to me it cried out for some ‘ageing’

Great work David on this one.
Cheers Steven, right place – right time

Wonderful vintage look
That’s what I aimed for, though the modern trucks at the back spoiled it a little
