The prototype for a new generation of British trains for the last quarter of the 20th century (they became known as Pacers). From new the twin set was painted in standard blue and grey colours with a full yellow end off-set by black window surrounds. This set was made up from bus parts and mounted on a rail underframe to evaluate the principal of using bus component’s for rail vehicle use.
