Giraffe. The latest in a string of Christmas sketches in 2008. This one is for my aunt who, obviously, collects giraffes. Drawn on 50# paper with mechanical pencil (2H lead).
really cool, i love giraffes quick question! how do you get you’re drawings on here, i’ve tried scanning my drawings and they just dont look as good, any tips?!
Levels are the key. I scanned right into Photoshop CS2 and leveled the values until it matched the original I had in my hand (assuming my monitor’s gamma levels were correct, which they must have been). Auto levels can do a good job in a pinch (ctrl + shift + L), but just levels works even better (ctrl + L), and creating a levels layer in your layers palette works the best because you can go back and edit them later. So basically, with the clearest, most true original scan possible (which was kind of green due to the glass on the scanner), it was post-production that made my picture work.
