Mixed Media on Canvas, 80×80cm Acrylic and photograp. (taken at my house in Sintra)
The photos were taken in the same morning I got the dreaded phonecall from the hospital telling me my father had died. Its was 8h15m I got the call 15 minutes later 4 years ago in the 29th of November.
That´s some real meaning….a cross…a window, dark and passed away. All the solid spaces being braken down. Father has a meaning of order and protection, a certain “law” and ancestral ties….so the four panelled window express it. You work fast. The square format is really interesting. Rosa
i was working in despair more the fast. I also used a technique I still havent done again: I printed the photos on that paper used to make t-shirst an then used an hot iron to embed the image into the canvas, after that I stopped for some minutes just to setle myself down and picked up a knife and a brush and just did it.
It is really so interesting…..! Feelings are a pressure and being you affected…I can imagine your outburst..but it is amazing that you really did have the “light” to use such a technique…Thank you so much for your description…your are an spontanous artist I guess and really passionate about your feelings too…
