I first rode in one as a teenager – on my first visit to France. The farmer just turned off the road and drove across a ploughed field. In those days it was the original grey corrugated iron version. I always wanted one but they are technically illegal here in Australia – unless you spend a lot to have the side pillar rebuilt so that you can attach a seat belt anchor.
