A slight hiatus is in order ... by Allan Savage

I’ve been lucky enough to stumble into a commissioned project, the objective of which is to produce a photo-essay that documents the passage of the seasons through an impressively large private garden. Since it’s a private garden and a private project I’m not at liberty to describe it in great detail.

The project sponsor saw my work from an associated project and must have felt that my style would be sympathetic to the subject matter.

Suffice to say, I’m very privileged and very honoured to have been asked.

Given that I have a real job, this project is necessarily a weekends/early morning/late evening affair. I’m now a few weeks into the project, and have shot about 1500 images, so the year will consume quite a few gigabytes. More importantly, the year will consume just about every spare moment I have, so it’s likely I will be largely absent from RB for a while. Unless, of course, there are some images like this one that are worthy of sharing, but sufficiently anonymous that it will not offend the very security-concious project sponsor.

So if I’m not here to oohh and aaahh over some of you brilliant work, I’m sorry. See you in a while.

To be honest, I haven’t stopped smiling since I was asked to do it. :-)

Congratulations Allan, sounds like a wonderful commission and I wish you all the best of success with it. I’m sure that smile will stay on your face for some time to come! :-)

Thanks David. Given the client, it really is an honour to have been asked. Pretty chuffed.
