Mommy...

Sitting in the rocking chair you once rocked me in
Looking at my cabbage patch doll
Thinking about you
The one I call Mommy

The one who raised me
The one I call Mommy

I imagine you not there
Away and gone

I begin to cry
For you the one I call Mommy
I don’t want you to leave me
I don’t want you to die

How do I live without you there
To take care of me
To nurture me
The one I call Mommy

I don’t want you to die Mommy…

Mommy...

Artist's Description

I saw a challenge in a group, and the subject was childhood memories. This was the first thing that came to mind. A memory I had when I was in 2nd grade and thinking about my Mother dying.
