The seasonal salt lake, called Magadi Lake, lies at the base of the massive caldera that is the Ngorongoro Crater.
Here, on the edge of the lake, a small family of zebra are grazing, with a marabou stork in the foreground and thousands of magnificent Lesser Flamingo (Phoenicopterus minor) linning the lake in the background.
