This is a view of the magnificent Bunyeroo Valley and Heysen Range in the Northern Flinders Ranges. The narrow dirt road rides the ridges from the various lookouts down into the valley.

An interesting landscape Adrian … similar in many ways to Red Rock Canyon in Nevada.
Really? I’ll need to Google that one! Thanks Trish.

I have an image posted, currently on page 3 of my profile. Having just had a look, the coloured striations of the mountains are not as prominent as I thought in that shot ….
I have just looked at your image, Trish. Nice panorama! Yes, there are similarities between the two ranges and with either an early morning or afternoon light on the Nevada range, the colours would stand out a lot more.

Thanks for viewing my image Adrian! I may post something a little closer and more colourful at some stage. My “Spring Mountain Lake” on the same page was taken in the same area, but again the colours are not so prominent.
Yes they are Trish. They’re a little more subtle but certainly prominent.
