torrential rain for about an hour. I’m glad it did rain that day because further down the street, a middle aged man was struck by a van. it was so bad they had to ( i just heard this on the news after i got home)
put blocks under the vehicle to probably cover the blood, though i still saw some when i walked by, probably about half hour after the scene, but there was another thick piece of wood, presumably used to get him out from under the vehicle. From what i heard on the news, he did not die, but did suffer from injury. I’ve done rain shots before, but the results weren’t as rainy looking since it wasn’t as hard as this one.

Gastown, Vancouver BC Canada
( or should i say, Raincouver)

excellent rain work, for sure!! an outstanding shot….perfect in b&w. sorry about the poor guy that got hit…hope he’s ok!

  • Thanks Michael. I feel the same way, but atleast he’s not dead. I was watching the news to see if they would do a follow up on him, but nothing came up. i’m sure he lived another day. let’s just hope he’s able to walk again someday.

I love Gastown!! This is fantastic in bw,, great catch of the bouncing raindrops!

  • same here. I think it’s great for street photography if you’re there at the right time of day, as the shadows can be challenging, but i like it because one can hide and be a part of the tourist scene hahaha.

Nice capture. Is it as dry out there this year as it is in TO….we just had rain today also. We needed it badly. Its been really hot here and the poor dears in Calgary had snow a few days ago!! Only in Canada….eh…LOL

    Debra

  • we had a dry month, sort of, last may and during the long weekend. lately though we had nothing but rain. it’s relatively warm though. we should be thankful we didn’t get any weather catastrophe. and yeah, Calgary had some crazy weather lately.
