Yellow Daffodils

When I look out of the window,
I see snowflakes falling
Onto a field of flowers.
Tiny claws meet colourful petals
In a last embrace of
Coldness.
Their zealous nature has
Blanketed the world in
White.
Final! Unyielding!
Their claws are still tiny.
Their bonds can still be broken.
They have not killed the
Yellow Daffodils.
