Oradour sur Glane (France). This village is on June 10, 1944 killed and burned by the German occupiers.
After the war De Gaulle decided that the remains of the old village had to obtain the function of a monument.

De geschiedenis van dit dorp is echter héél, héél triest.
En als je nu dagelijks het wereldnieuws volgt kun je zeggen dat de mensheid sindsdien maar weinig heeft bijgeleerd.

Klopt! Dat ‘vraagt om’... had ik nog niet eens zo bekeken, maar ben het helemaal met je eens. Zo komt de boodschap over, in kleur niet (of in ieder geval veel minder).
