Shrunken Head by

This shrunken head is on display in Long Beach, Washington. It was purchased from the Pacific Curio Museum in San Francisco. According its display, this head was shrunk by Jivaro Indians in Ecuador jungles and is one of three known genuine shrunken heads on the Pacific Coast. The tradition of shrinking one’s head used to be a four day ritual with a carnival like atmosphere. I definitely wouldn’t desire to be the guest of honor.
