The good news today is that I’ve sold four paintings!

It’s about paradox and ambiguity inherent in identity. I am a “mixed race” person living in a white community where others are always fixing me within their limited defintions. THEY want me to be Welsh, they want me to be black – actually whatever I agree to is not enough.
If I say I’m black they say well I don’t see you as black. If I claim to be white
( I’m no more black than white as it happens) they think it’s a joke.
So I’m saying I’m always the same and I’m always different….
