In the main piazza in the town of Amalfi is the Fontana del Popolo (Fountain of the People), which has as its centerpiece a statue of Sant’Andrea (St. Andrew, an Apostle and brother of Peter). He gazes up at the Duomo di Sant’Andrea (Cathedral of St. Andrew), while the fountain provides water to locals and thirsty throngs of tourists.
