dull the light and settle the dust
leave the hinges be to rust
fade the rug and age the wood
leave it here where it last stood
never disturb it’s place
for in mind whirling there
tales of love of humour of care
outweigh the sorrow the tales of woe
bolstered by wisdom collected to know
secure its solomn place
will you remember who’s it was
or is it kept just because
the contents a mystery lost in time
no words retained no rhythm no rhyme
just initials carved in place
dare to open, peek inside
to that protected, expose wide
reveal the contents to the world
dissapate the mystery furled
to archive the journey’s place
