~ blue sonnet ~

stop this aching scraping
dragged across my mind
layering the fabric of my time
hashed and hacked and scratched
the jagged tears fray
hardened without hope
the hues of blue lay
agonizing loss of metered rhyme

and I want it all to soften
I want it to be clean
I want the tatters mended
the fabric mutes my scream
there’s not a lot of give left
when the fabric’s overstretched
just let it settle .. let it be .. let it rest

If the sun comes up again perhaps its golden tricks
will soften off the blue to muted green

the times to quit trying!

adgray is a writer and a poet
- telling stories all her life,
- writing them down once she learnt how
“Scribbling! Always scribling!”
… and no there was nothing to be done about it!
Her poetry came later when the gift found her to be a ZETE segue (Zographonic Extemporanious Treatise Ekphrasis)
At times she can go into a trance-like state as poetry flows through her to the page and screen

    Dear Adgray

I am intrigued by your poem here because to me there is something comforting about the lullaby of metered rhyme. I don’t know if it is just memories of infancy or seeking to bring one’s life into equilibrium. Anyway, inspired by you and other writers on rb I have started to write my own. Chookas! Tony:)
