~ two poems ~ (one inspiring art piece)

“Tree of Reason”

Swing with me
swing neath the tree
swing as the wind blows the leaves away
There be nothing more
but this tree we adore
and the swing to the fore in it’s shade
Swing with the clock’s tick
if you are well or even sick
while life’s candle has a wick
swing neath the tree of reason

“Field of Knowing”

Maaaa Maaaaa where have you gone
How can I loose you I wasn’t gone long
Just up there to that hanging from the tree
And back down here; can’t you see me?

Maaaaaa Maaaaaa where am I now?
There’s nothing around me not even the cow
Only a bird wagging his tail
Why am I so lost? How did I fail?

Maaaa Maaaa when I look back at the tree
That thing hanging down is on the other side of me
Perhaps if I go back up to the top
I’ll discover what down here I can not

Maaaaaa Maaaaa I see you now
Down in the valley with the silly old cow
here I come Maaa Maaa you know where I’ve been?
In the field of knowing that from here can’t be seen

Melodious posted this picture of an untitled landscape
in trying to help out with a title a poem hit and then the second in quick succession.
have a look at her gorgeous art – it is best viewed large to see the exquisite detail!

Enjoy! ♥

adgray is a writer and a poet
- telling stories all her life,
- writing them down once she learnt how
“Scribbling! Always scribling!”
… and no there was nothing to be done about it!
Her poetry came later when the gift found her to be a ZETE segue (Zographonic Extemporanious Treatise Ekphrasis)
At times she can go into a trance-like state as poetry flows through her to the page and screen
Thank you for coming to read my words! ~ adgray~

How creative, two on the same subject. Good artist work from Melodious. I like both of these, particularly the second, it appeals to my humour.
