~ fresh water ~

The wonderful Ms GailD has returned and posted a glorious Cool Waters picture for us to delight in!
I favoured it so that I could look at this on hot days and dream of a sweet fresh water creek bath! :O)
Come join me? :O)
Chookas! ♥

Singing whistling ringing
cicadas dull your ears
The heat is so heavy your sinus doesn’t work
Exploding dust rocks crunch
with the grasses underfoot
And something small and slithery scurries away

There is just a hint of cloud
in the for ever and ever blue sky
Just a wisp of breeze to give a scent
And the hint of moisture shouts
through your mouth to your brain
There must be water somewhere near abouts

The rise is ever upwards
as hills often are
But hills give hope to someone parched and tired
There must be shelter there
From the unrelenting heat
And hope for other’s camping near by

And then you see the glistening
and hear the happy birds
feel the breeze lifting from the top
and there stretched out before you
is the sluggish clear brown creek
inviting you to stop and rest a while

The coolness of the water
swirls about your legs
as you gently slide your feet through silty mud
turn and slowly lower
to fall back in the depths
and feel the sheer relief refresh your soul
