~ That's what they mean ~

Inspired by the gorgeous shot of Heaven by the tallented Mr Nicholas Avarre

When I was a Cub Akela One of my duties was to instruct youth [aged 7-11] about faith. Scouting is nondenominational as such but all are meant to have faith in a higher power. Try to explain to an easily bored 9yo boy the meaning of faith <)
I decided the easiest way was to ask them to all close their eyes and take a deep breath then let it out. then with their eyes still shut one by one tell me one thing that they had done and were caught out and punished for. Each child did. and I then asked them if they had decided to not do that again. the answers were unimportant the exercise was to have them discover faith.
I then said “Now open your eyes. There see the world didn’t explode because you made a mistake. Having faith is knowing that the whole world isn’t relying on you to be perfect but to just do your best at trying to be good and trusting that if you make a mistake you can correct it without the whole world coming crashing down. Having faith means you can stop and change your ideas from the wrong track to the right track as many times as it takes and the sun will always come up tomorrow.”
I was so grateful that they got it!
But this poem says it easier.

Thank you for reading my words.
Keep Happy! :O)

To every cloud there’s a silver lining
and each bird brings a measure of hope
so turn your weary eyes skyward
when you feel you can no longer cope

Just take a breath of fresh air
at the start of another day
for you’ll find peace and faith there
and that’s what they mean by pray

    Fankoo Mary :O)
We are never too old to learn! The moment we stop learning is the moment we die … and then we learn how to do that!

  • adgray replied

Universal Energy – Power, Love, Creativity, Forces … all way beyond mere mortal control! and we are fools to think we can command it! we are only fortunate to tap into it when we can and thereby duty bound to facilitate it’s segue to others!
Smile often & Keep Happy! :O)

Great words. I so believe that confusion creates more guilt and pain than any other aspect of humanity. So many of us have been so conditioned to fear making mistakes that we have become so protective and lacking in freedom. I further believe that the best way to become strong in one’s self esteem is to not fear making mistakes and to not fear the judgment of others.

  • adgray replied

    Thank you Tony!
The more I read what you write to me the more I see how similar we are in our morals and values and our perceptions on life! It strengthens my beliefs and gives me courage to continue saying what I think in hopes of helping others …
... and that gives me peace!
    Keep Happy my friend :O)

Amazing how you put feeling into words. This is so beautiful !!

  • adgray replied

    Thank you Treasure :O)
But I do feel I am just the segue – the facilitator of a tap into universal artistry I just do it in words – you do it in capturing what you see; what you notice; in how you compose a picture out of the angles and light of what is around you…. do you not know how much feeling you put into your art too? – that’s why I could write to your image :O)
    Bravo to you too! :O)
Thank you for reading my words ♥
    Keep Happy! :O)

Thanks Chookas. I feel likewise. Being deeply creative can be a very scary existence until you connect with others who are similarly deep and open.

No is cool just 4 lines – I usually do 3 stanzas … having said that I also have a novel that is 300,000 words! ..... :O!!! lol not in here though! :O)
    Happy Reading! :O) ♥

Happy peeking my friend :~) Please do tell about the novel :O

  • adgray replied

My novel is called “The Daintree Daughters” [but that might change lol – it has NOTHING to do with the Daintree and perhaps that title should be kept for a story about that! lol]
and I did put it in here … well extracts of it – but it didn’t get any response really [too big & confusing!] so I added a journal about it which you can view here so go peek for yourself :O)
