Artist's Description

The hills my Grandfather walked (and probably every other father & grandfather for the centuries before him!)

It is also the Valley where Sir Walter Scott built Abbotsford 1825 and from there helped to re-establish to the world, the High Honour and Reputation of Scotland (all be it somewhat romantic)!

I love this shot of the country before the twin peaks of the Emerald Hills behind Melrose across the Tweed River from Gattonside Scotland

Last Year after a life of longing, my mother aged 82 finally went to the place of her ancestors; the Family Smart in Gattonside Scotland.
Pity Mum didn’t get to meet up with any cousins while she was there. But at least she walked where her father walked and saw what her father saw! And she felt she’d come home!

I wanted to share the images my mother and brother took
This is a series and the best ones I hope to make a calendar for her to remember her trip by!

Thank you to the awesome dsargent for taking some shots of the town several years ago for me to purchase a calendar for my mother’s 80th

☼Ü Happy Bubbling! Ü☼
