Writers beware! NaNoWriMo Starts again!
Hello my friends I have just been reminded that in a few weeks time the
NaNoWriMo challenge starts again!
The objective:- to write 30,000 words in 30 days!
EDIT – Last year it was 30,000 BUT according to This Page THIS year it’s 50,000
Still do-able it’s relatively easy enough to get 2000w a day done = 60,000w in 30 days! (I did over 72,000 last year!)
It’s not meant to be perfect just the first draft! Designed to just get us to sit down and write!
I “won” last year and hope to do so again!
So come and join in the fun!

Ok so 50,000 …. that’s 1,000 a day + ......
Oh buggar it 2,000 a day will cover it! lol
Considering in here I type that in comments a day easy! lol …... should be easy enough – I did 72,000 last year (must finish that!)

It can be a great thing or it can be your biggest undoing! lol
The idea is to just write a lot of words! this is pre-production stuff
free writing to get the words out & on paper!
Yes people have met the challenge but from the forums in there I’ve discovered there have not been many actual books published!
It is just an exercise to write …. on a massive scale! =0þ

Thank you for posting this. I tried it a couple of years ago and froze. I just freaked out. Maybe it’s time to try again!

COOL!!!!! A group! Support for the NaNoWriMo people, as only RedBubble can do it! Seriously…I tried using the main site as a support place, but it was sooooooo hard to log in (ran v-e-r-y slowly that year) and huge, you know?
RedBubble’s full of wonderful writiers! And maybe we could publicize at the NaNo site…cross-marketing kind of thing…....

well it’s 7:16am here (Melbourne) .... but you posted that an hour ago so that was 6:15 here then …. but then we are on daylight savings which is an hour in advance so normally it would be 6:15 now …. so it would have been 5:15 then …. so we’re only 2 hours ahead of you? right? lol
Still – what do you need to do in the kitchen in the middle of the night? lol ♥

3:12_pm_…..I’m a morning person. Chirpy and cheery at 5:00am, but around 3:00pm (an hour and a half ago) I start to fade…I’ll be disappearing soon! By the time it’s dark I’m ready to conk out for the night.
Thank you about that little banner whoosit…I know it’s not particularly useful but I’m learning how to warp text in Photoshop Elements 3 and that’s the first time I’ve made a wavy one…any excuse to play…....LOL
Oh, gosh! If I’m going to NaNo I’d better start thinking, hunh?

OOOHHHhhhh PM Afternoon! gotcha! lol
I was thinking we couldnt call itr the NaNoWriMo group – the real site might get stroppy & we’re not doing National November anythings all year long, sooooooo What about calling the group “Wrimo” – for the Writing Monthly bit? That way we’re not confusing the other site with us and we can encourage monthly challenges of a chapter or 10,000w pieces etc
Entries of nothing under 5,000w (Unless it’s an excerpt for assistance – editing or ideas etc)
A group for real novelists & blatherers to ramble on!
& Forum help for those needing it – Research questions, grammar issues, spelling, sensor standards etc
Getting far too involved and the group isn’t even a possibility yet! lol
But what ideas would you have?
Or anyone reading this – what ideas would you have?

WriMo…would be cool; not certain if that real site has dibs on that, too. They might. But I like it!
Should “novel” be somewhere in the title? Or is for poetry, too? Avant-garde experimental forms? Does it matter? Will it be open submissions?
I’m most comfy keeping it focused on novels, fiction. Then the monthly challenges all have a similar starting-point, and members can have a basic expectation for the group.
Having support and help via the group is a FABULOUS idea!! YAY!!
LOL…I’d better tell you right now: my BIGGEST hurdle in writing isn’t the creation but the typing. I’m a REALLY bad typist and spend more time proofing and repairing than anything else. In fact, I have a blog related to that, that was sort of popular for while, until I found RedBubble and drifted away.
Gotta go for a bit. Back later.

Whooops. Forgot to include why typing is an issue! It’s not too hard to come up with a lot of words. It’s hard to get them look like English.
Here’s that last bit if I don’t proof it:

But I’m with you! My typing is atrocious and I look! =O !! lol
When I was trying to learn to touch type I failed miserably – I could get my name and street name but when it came to the town I was hopeless – PORKAPUNYK everytime instead of PUCKAPUNYAL !!! lol
I use thumb and two fingers on my right and the index finger of my left!
What got me fast was Instant messaging conversations! especially in a chat room! I soon learnt to be quick and accurate lol – and to read before sending! lol
