My developing style encompasses my passion for all symbolism, ancient art and cultural heritage. I grew up in Avebury and lived for a while in Ashbury near the Uffington White Horse Hill which explains the prehistoric subject matter in some of my paintings.
I enjoy experimenting with different media from traditional oil paints to watercolours. At the moment, most of my work is in oil.
All my landscapes start their life from a reference photograph taken by myself. I then sketch out a few compositions on paper and start painting.
I have had 3 very successful solo exhibitions in Oxfordshire and Somerset and am currently preparing material for a new solo show in 2009.
The artists that inspire me are Paul Nash for his subject matter. He was a master landscape painter and lived in Wallingford for a time which is where I was born. The Austrian painter Friedrich Hundertwasser is a constant inspiration for his bold and dramatic use of colour.
