Photographed on a farm near York, Western Australia.

I retired to Frankland River 10 years ago, after living in Perth since 1971; originally I was from Shropshire, England.
Most of my work, is done in the lower south of Western Australia, mainly Frankland, my garden, and Albany. However, I do visit my family who still live in Perth, and try to take the opportunity to photograph other places.

Seems the place could do with some of this rain the Central Coast of NSW is getting lately…

    Terrific image!!

  • Thank you Donna. We are getting more than we want too, the farmers are finding it difficult getting their crops in.

What a lovely Australian scene – you can feel the heat, you can see they are in drought, the horses all have their tails working overtime against the flies, sheep are typically dirty Aussie variety . . . Good work

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful comment.

A great rural capture Eve. Is it as dry as it looks????

  • Thanks Al. Yes it’s as dry as it looks, but that’s usual during the summer months.

An excellent Australian landscape image Eve ! Are the sheep really as thin as they appear, or have they recently been shorn? It certainly does look very dry !

  • Thank you Trish. The sheep had just been shorn. :))

You probably see this often, but I think it would be really a neat thing to see! Great shot!

  • Thank you very much. Yes we have lots of sheep in the district where I live and the paddocks are all brown now and will be that way until the early rains start. Perhaps June 2012.
