Echium plantagineum - Patterson's Curse by

Photographed near York, in Western Australia.
Beautiful to look at, but I believe its deadly to animals. (Also know as Salvation Jane) Introduced to Australia from Europe.

I retired to Frankland River 10 years ago, after living in Perth since 1971; originally I was from Shropshire, England.
Most of my work, is done in the lower south of Western Australia, mainly Frankland, my garden, and Albany. However, I do visit my family who still live in Perth, and try to take the opportunity to photograph other places.

very nice composition. Ours takes another month or so to flower.

  • It’s not out here yet either. I dug this one up to enter into a challenge.
