Sleepy Beauty

Drawn in 2007. Age 20.

This here is my late best friend Morris, who I adored, loved and cherished . Sadly he passed away in 2007 so I drew him as I remembered him best…
As a beautiful, young and healthy kitten.

The original belongs to a very dear friend of mine.

Childhood is a difficult time for many of us and through a number of my recent writngs and drawings i’ve tried to capture my feelings as a child; feelings of emptiness and lonliness: ( Writing: Ready to Die , Alone , Emptiness , No Comfort ) But Morris was always there. He was always there to offer his warm comfort. He was there when no one else was… He is the most pleasant memory of my childhood and i feel a little less whole without him.

I miss him dearly… but he will always remain loved and never will he be forgotton. Bless his little paws.

Oh my.. Love the way you drew Morris.. wish i could draw half as good as you.. then probably i’d have a better piece to remember Brown by.. I’m sure Morris miss you as much as you miss him.. n_n

I’m sorry you lost Brown, though i’m sure the memories you cherish keep his or her soul alive. I know Morris is still around, bless his little cottons. One day I hope to draw another version of him, one capturing his adorably cute old and scruffy self. He only had one tooth!

Thank you Rosie. He was so adorable, sadly my drawing does his real-life self no justice. At the very least i hope i’ve captured his peacefulness.

I remember picking him up when he was just a kitten, i was only young myself, and he was lying there so peacefully, with one eye just slightly opened. After he past away that image of him remained strongly in my mind, so i just had to draw it down.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DRAWING! I’M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS – I THINK WE HAVE ALL GONE THROUGH THE DEATH OF A PET AND WE WILL MOST LIKELY GO THROUGH IT AGAIN BECAUSE WE JUST CAN NOT LIVE WITH OUT A PET SHARE LIFE WITH.
