The bird life in the Northern Territiry is amazing! So many species, so many bird calls. This cheeky Black-chinned Honeyeater (race laetior), bird seems to be asking the wearer where he could buy these shoes, with the exact same colours as him! I think he was actually after some blue material for his nest, picking at the socks, then flying off. Managed to snap this shot on my backup camera, with the 200mm zoom lens.
Shot near Palm Valley in the Northern Territory, Australia.
Canon 50D, 200mm, f2.8. Available large and best appreciated large!
Adam this is an amazing capture. This bird is a Black-chinned Honeyeater, also known as a Golden-backed Honeyeater, up north. Down here in Victoria they are very shy and I think it is wonderful you have been able to capture this wonderful moment.
Thanks very much Kerryn, appreciate the information too!! :)
