Probably the most obvious landmark in London, the nickname “Big Ben” is actually for the great bell of the clock. On the hour, it rings the number of the hour of day. the Westminster Chimes are so awesome to listen to, well worth waiting for the hour to hear them :)
The clock first ticked on 31 May 1859, celebrating it’s 150th year last year, 2009.
Palace of Westminster, main clock tower, northend. London, England. The lights stretched across the shot is from another London icon, the Red double-decker bus.
