This is the beautiful Brahminy Kite (also known as Red-backed Sea-eagle), soaring over the Noosa River, Noosaville. This bird is the official mascot of Jakarta. They can be found in many countries, including Asia, Philippines, India and Australia.
They are a medium sized Bird of Prey, or Eagle, with a strongly hooked beak for ripping through meat.
