A little Australian Native Stingless Bee (Trigona carbonaria), cleaning her long proboscis (a complex “tongue”), used to suck the nectar from flowers. These little bees are harmless to humans, which is a good thing, as to get this shot, at 5x, I had to put the lens right in her face.. Hehe!

Shot in the Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Flower is a native wildflower to the sandy areas, not sure of the name unfortunately.

Canon 5D Mk II, 65mm, 5x. Available Large, and best appreciated Large!
