Storm over Noosa

The evening of the 12th of August 2009, a string of storms from the Gold Coast to Gympie in South East Queensland, many cells with hail. Luckily for us, there was no hail, but the light show was wonderful. This shot, a 30 second exposure, caught 3 separate lightning strikes, and the one to the left of the shot, I think was 3 or more strikes in quick succession. The others up at the lookout at the time even said to me “WOW Did you get that???”.. It was quite blinding and long.

Laguna Lookout, Noosa Heads, overlooking Noosaville and Tewantin. The Noosa River can be seen to the right. Mount Cooroy in the middle of the shot.

Canon 5D Mk II, 50mm, 16:9 Crop. Available Large, and best viewed Large of course!
