Dramatic Nature II

Dramatic Nature II

As I was taking a few shots of this beautiful scenery in the vertical format, this beautiful Australasian Gannet flew right past me. I could have almost stuck my hand out and touched him, incredable experience! I guess he didn’t see me, as I was on the edge of the cliff with a shrub to my left. I’m glad I was shooting when he flew past, and on the +-0 stop frame too!!

Canon 50D, 10mm. Devils Kitchen, Noosa Heads National Park, Queensland, Australia. Bird is an Australasian Gannet, these beautiful coastal birds are a bird of prey, and dive sometimes from large heights for school bait fish.

Wow! Amazing shot! And very lucky to get the Gannet too, as they aren’t that common on the mainland!

  • Adam Gormley replied

I was so happy, and surprised when he flew by so close, this is at 10mm, and he was about 1 metre away.. I was hiding behind a rock face to my left, and I was about 15 metres high in the edge of the headlands.. Was magical :)
