Green Tree Snake

Adam Gormley

Green Tree Snake

This little guy is the very first wild snake I handled, I knew he was not venomous, and when I caught sight of him in the noosa basin on one of my frequent trips there, I was so happy to get a chance to play with a wild snake, and photograph him in the wild. Was actually on the outskirts of the basin, in a park in Noosaville.

Hunting mostly frogs and some reptile/bird eggs, they are excellent tree climbers, as their name suggests :)

WOW- what an experience. I wish I could handle a snake, maybe it will help me get over my distaste for them. I see them here in my garden sometimes, but not game to go near them.
    Well done Adam.
    Cheers

  • Adam Gormley replied

Thanks very much Sooty, I think you mentioned once there while shooting your house yours are brown snakes, I highly recommend not touching them.. :)

    G’day Adam!

A terrific experience with a terrific subject has resulted in a terrific snake study.
I really like the sinuosity of the serpent echoed in the curvature of the leaf and the wavy blurred background.
A good exposure in great light, as sharp as and with wonderfully natural colour.
    Most enjoyable and interesting viewing.
