Black Cockatoos Mt Beerwah

Beerwah, according to local Aboriginal legend, is the pregnant mother of this family of mountains. If you look at the left-hand side of the mountain you should be able to see the shape of a reclining pregnant woman.
Black Cockatoos Mt Beerwah belongs to the following groups:

Nice shot and good treatment. The Glasshouse Mountains are pretty spectacular really. Have you climbed this one! – a bit steep but good views from the top.
AdamDonnelly, 10 months ago
Thanks chriso. I have climbed some of the smaller ones but I’ve got to work my way up to this one. I suffer badly from vertigo. I can overcome it but sometimes it can take a while. I used to do work near the base of this mountain & I’ve seen people a few times air-lifted by helicopter off it. That put me off. One day I’ll do it.

Truely beautiful
you’ve captured the beauty of the mountain in an original and captivating way
Re comment above i believe or blacks on the east coast have yellow
i think there just prefect
AdamDonnelly in reply to KellieBee’s comment, 2 months ago
Thanks KellieBee. You’re right there probably are more yellow tailed black cockatoos but around the Glasshouse Mountains there are heaps of red tailed ones. They love all the sheoaks. These were red tailed ones. I think it worked better like this than in colour. The light wasn’t great so it looked quite dull in colour. I just played around with it alot because I thought it would be a shame to scrap it – I liked the subject. I think I’ve actually sold more of this image than any other & its one of my favourites.
