I got up at 4am to catch the sunrise at Grand Canyon – only to find it was the cloudiest morning of our trip (from England). I was so disappointed.
After mooching around trying to get something half decent, a crack opened up in the clouds and this wonderful shaft of light blazed down into the canyon. It was totally unexpected in what was otherwise a rather dreary morning. I was blessed to be at the right place, at the right time. . . and to have my camera and tripod ready!
I am so glad I didn’t give up and go back to bed. . .
No photograph I have seen has been able to capture the immensity and beauty of Grand Canyon – but with this hanging on my wall at home (20″ × 30″) I am reminded of it every day.
