    Thanks Jan. The picture was taken with a long shutter speed, 3 or 4 seconds I believe). Anything that is stationary (the bridge/signs) emits light is absorbed into the picture (hence the lines from the headlights/taillights of the cars) and since cars do not emit light they do not show up in the picture because they are not stationary.

    Thanks for the compliment. If you walk out of the garden near the Canal St entrance and take a left it brings you right over the tunnel, just walk towards the highway and i poked my camera through the protective bars / fence thats there at the top of the entrance to the tunnel.
