Flamingos

Wonderful capture! Beautiful birds, love the reflections!!

Thnks for your comments. Sarah, i shot the image at f16 which gave me enough depth to get the birds sharp all the way from the front ot the back. They were standing in front of dark green bushes, and it was a bright sunny day which made the birds look bright white. To get the background darker and the birds pinker i set my exposure to two stops under. Then i did a tiny bit of work on the backround in Photo shop to get rid of a few areas where dark green could be seen instead of black. Hey presto – Flamingoes! :)

This stand of Flamingos is chock filled with lovely detail right through the scene and the glow of the light and the nice reflections make for a wonderful study.

Many thanks Dennis! I took three shots of this scene, but this was the only one wiht the two flamingos on the LHS sticking their necks up…..and i think it makes the shot! Appreicate your kind comments and valued opinion. :)
