This photo is so totally amazing. I love the colours and Point of View, this deserves to be on the cover of magazines or loney planet guides.

    Breathtaking.

Thanks so much Andrew. This photo is the one image ive had most commercial and copetition success with – once upon a time this used to frustrate me as im an ‘animal & wildlife’ photographer not an underwater photographer, and i felt like i was misrepresenting myself a bit….But it drew attention to my other work so i began to appreciated it a lot! :)

Hi Alex – I can see why you have had success with this photo – it is unique and perfectly shot – hard to believe it is underwater – I am amazed that there are so many different patterns to the blues – any idea why? age, different subspieces? anyhow very cool indeed—dave

Hi Dave, Many thanks for your comments. I think people like the abstract nature of this? Im not sure of the species but they were around 8cm long and were actually part of a breeding faciliy. The owner can mix sperm & eggs from one to another, which produces off spring with different patterns and colours! or example sperm form a purple clam mixed with the eggs of a blue clams with dashes around the edges, you end up with a light purple clam with dashes around the edges! Its quite fascinating how they can be mixed and matched!!
