「Cryptic Schematic」 Core of the Planetary Guardian Mainframe by

This is it. I spent a while brainstorming this, it’s part of a big project I’m working on, some hidden ace I’ll not reveal for the moment.

Here I offer my odd, weird and abstract schematic of the core of an alien computer. Each line was manually placed (yes, you got it right) trying to follow my own wicked logic for line placement. I spent hours arranging those lines then copying that original layer of lines to create the final image (which has over 20 layers). It’s obscenely big (4500×4500) and Photoshop cried every time I added another line.

Lets explain things a bit: the core is clearly at the centre. There are four subnetworks (the other four spheres) which represent diverse aspects that the Mainframe has, plus some “ghost schemes”, more specifically two copies of the core extended above it (yes, the light from the center doesn’t have any lens flare I built the light myself by arranging several output renders from Chaoscope), which are part of the core but can act independently if needed. The lines are the thousands of connections/links between nodes, subnetworks and other links.

A long story awaits.
