Artist's Description

Under blue skies we have one of the many birds of the surreal. This one is learning how to shoot “psychic” guided missiles in order to protect itself from dangerous threats. A dance in the sky, which can be harmless as long as you don’t attempt attacking one of these biomechanical creatures.
We call them “birds” but they are undeniably different from them as we can’t find out what makes them fly.

Initial 3d set-up made in 3dsMAX 9.0, using Mental Ray renderer (though it looked the same with Scanline), then Photoshop CS2 for all the fluffy fluff, aka, cool effects.

This is also my first super mega render at 3000+x2400+ resolution, practically a death treat to my computer but worth the waiting time (almost an hour to get the proper frame, this one took more than 20 mins and I should thank not using Raytraced stuff… or HDR)
