Peterborough City

This picture is of the listed historical cast iron bridge in the industrious City of Peterborough England. This beautiful bridge was built in 1850 for the Great Northern Railway by the engineer Joseph Cubitt and the contractor Thomas Brassey (1805-1870). It is believed to be the last cast iron bridge on a major British Rail high speed route. Underneath this marvelous construction is the River Nene upon which many a lazy afternoon has been spent on a boat wending it’s way along the river’s course.

Thank you Andreas it was an image i wasn’t sure if others would find boring even though i loved it, so it’s nice to find someone else likes it as much as me!

reminds me of old Robert Doisneau and a Willy Ronis images

I must admit that to my shame i had not seen any of the gentlemen’s images that you mentioned until now and i must say i was held mesmerised. I fell in love with both of these men’s work especially Willy Ronis and just sat exploring each picture..the light, the subject, the positioning, the angle, the emotion, the message, the way each one made me feel! I felt emotional with each one and realised that i have so much to learn but i felt so excited too.
I feel so happy that you looked at one of my images and saw a glimpse…a shadow….a reminder of two such brilliant photographers…....thank you so much for your comment i am going to explore my own style and question myself just what it is i want to say to the world through my images.
