Hi Martin thanks for letting me know! The reason i was nervous about displaying this image was because i viewed it on my husband’s computer. The top righthand corner should be shrouded in darkness and sepia, but on my husband’s comp the top corner isn’t in darkness and was lighter losing atmosphere. It seems to depend on peoples monitor as to how this image appears but thankfully it seems to be my husband’s monitor!

y’know Marny i love taking pictures that mean something so when i then get a reaction like yours it just makes my heart sing! Photography should be emotional, a chance to express that spirit inside and say something to the world…the wonder of nature or the human spirit..but say something! If i brought back to you a precious moment in times past then i am truly happy. To provoke a reaction of such a beautiful kind is so good and i can smile again! Thank you so much Marcel i love the Raphael era and deliberately did this image in that style. I love dark back grounds with the light emphasizing the subject. The unexpected element was her brother as the image was originally supposed to be just her and the baby so it was a lovely addition. Thanks again Marcel.

You are so right Yurilev it is frowned upon so often by some parts of society and yet the ones who complain were probably breast fed themselves, they have simply forgotten looking into their mother’s eyes and the warmth, safety, love and joy of it all…..thank you so much for your lovely comment!

I agree with everything you have said, breasts are sometimes such sexual objects that a baby is deprived of the joy of feeding from them. I know personally several woman who could not breast feed their sons as they felt it was incestuous to do so…...i felt so sad that this was the case and that those little boys really did miss out….big time!

oh i know it’s just so wonderful isn’t it? I breastfed all 5 of my children and loved each and every time spent with them suckling. There’s just something so rewarding and beautiful about giving your child life with your own body. On average i fed mine for the first 2 years not because they needed it so much but because i didn’t want to give it up i was enjoying it too much LOL
