This is a photo, which is a departure for me vs. working with oil paints. Have had some very positive feedback from folks about On Approach and wanted to share some of the inspiration for it. I love leaves.
This is one of a series I took in the fall of ’07 here in northern Virgina (an amazing time of year). Actually shot this through rose-colored sunglasses, which really make everything pop. There is a definite truth to the saying “looking at the world through rose-colored glasses”! Life just looks a lot better.
Highly recommend a pair in spring and fall, especially for us aesthetic-centric bubblers! :-)
BTW – thanks to Melodius for “Autumn Red” , which is a killer image that reminded me about these pics.
there is a very deeeeeep fell to this … red does this ( i think )… love the way other leaves make shadows on others….have you tried to paint?…p
this type of feel is what i was going for in “on approach”. the juxatposition of very intense color against black. have not tried just this pallet though. that might be a cool idea!
