death of a dream (corrected)

death of a dream (corrected)

2.5×3 feet. oil on canvas

only second time in like 7 months i’ve painted.

felt the need to give up the “gotta use only palette knives” mindset. so, this is with brushes.

white balance is corrected in this shot vs. the prior posting.

thanks to carmen, mimi, julian and wayne for encouragement to get back at it….

Hey gorgeous why on earth would you want to get stuck on one method of application. Now that you are on a roll i want to see you incorporate some chemicals too – thinners, bounce some acrylic off oil, watch the ink pool as they are rejected back onto the white canvas etc… looking forward to seeing what’s next.

  • Ray Schloss replied

interesting idea about the acrylics there, cills… but have to let you know that i always use multiple thinning mediums. always appreciate your input. :D

I think the brush strokes says it all Ray…coinciding with the title. Bold, brilliant & good for you for picking up the painting again. Your friends are awesome to encourage you to do this.
I am very proud of you for not picking up a knife to this one – because that would have been much easier for you to do!
Kudos to you Ray and I hope you are keeping well :)))
