Hello. Please visit my website at http://www.rayschloss.com . Love having RB’ers sign the guestbook.

I live in the Washington, DC area. Influences include Rothko, Reinhardt, Poons, Motherwell, Frankenthaler, Pollock, Miro, Van Gogh, Newman, etc.

Color is the foundation of my work. I have great respect for the abilities of realist painters, but greatly prefer art that has impact based on color and expression.

I’m an oil on canvas kinda guy, and only use palette knives. No brushes…

I’m also a musician and a bit of an athlete. Besides painting and playing guitar, doing endurance sports is my drug of choice. Thanks to everyone who gave encouragement for the recent triathlon, which went well even though it was a record hot day here in DC.

Here’s to being happily impacted… :0)
