Artist Statement:
I am committed to expounding a newfound respect for the use of charcoal.
Biography:
Jacksonville native Artist Adrian Pickett Jr., is talented in the use of many mediums, but prefers the challenge of charcoal. His collection highlights his mastery of charcoal but also consists of pastel drawings and acrylic paintings.
As a self-taught artist, Adrian uses his God gifted talent in an unusual approach to reveal the essence and soul of his subjects. Adrian’s ability allows him to transpose explicit details and unparalleled realism in his artwork.
Education and Experience:
As an artist with a natural gift, Adrian has always been interested in Art. Although he has no post high school formal training, Adrian has continued to self educate on perfecting the forms and techniques of various art mediums. Adrian is an emerging artist and has received much notoriety by exhibiting at juried shows and contributing artwork to local charity events. His has wona awards from the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, winning the Best of Show in the Ponte Vedra Cultural Center Sight of Music Juried Art Exhibition, Best of Show, The Center_ Osceola Center for the Arts, Juried Drawing Contest and Jacksonville ArtUnleashed to name a few.
Adrian’s artwork is currently being featured in the 2009-2010 Art & Graphic Catalog for Faber-Castell.
