    Simply Beautiful!

  • Thanks LJ. I actually broke the handle on my shovel last night so I had to make an improvised repair this morning. Then when I opened the garage door and saw that all my work had been for nothing I just shut the door (after taking a few photos of course).

And you know what’s going to happen, don’t you. Just as you get it all cleaned up, that darned snowplow’s going to go by and re-fill the end of the driveway with nicely compacted snow.

  • I wish… A snowplow almost never works on the sidestreets here. There is nowhere to put the snow unless they haul it away. The only alternative is to make a huge mound in the center of the cul-de-sac but I haven’t seen them up here in 4 years. We geberally have to rely on our chinook winds for relief.

Isn’t it brutal??? It’s still snowing here too………..my husband’s out shovelling (again) right now……..

  • Oh well, I just get resigned to winter. I will go and carve a path for us to walk to the cab tonight, but that is all. Shoveling in this wind is a waste of time here, it just drifts right back in before you are done.
Merry Christmas, HO, HO, HO,… or is it Shovel, Shovel, Shovel, lol.

Amazing amounts of snow!! Wow! We haven’t seen any here in UpState NY…but it is not too far off!! And that youngwhippersnapper, Sean, has not come to help you yet has he?? LOL…. :))

  • No, Rita, I am arranging for Sean to come tomorrow when the snow and winds hopefully subside, lol. I am NOT looking forward to all this shoveling. Methinks we will be doing one side only and then do some creative driving…

Ahhh….I see…your strategy will work well…you’d better fill that young whippersnapper in on it!! LOL!! Safe travels to you..as your images look pretty dicey!! :))

  • Sean!! Are you listening?? Listen to the nice lady from New York and come help this old man just south of you…. lol.
    Thanks Rita!

you get a hairdryer,,stick it out the window,,,set it on hot ,and hope for the best, lol

  • That might warm up the ceramic dog on our porch but that’s about all, lol. Minus 18-C tonight is roughly 0-F and this 60kph (40mph) wind will drown out our puny hairdryer pretty quick.

Yes I am listening and would love to help but cant get out of my own driveway…..better use your technique lol

  • I have to be careful how I approach this, because any tossing of the snow in the air just sends the snow southwards onto my neighbour’s driveway and he has been working diligently to keep it clear.

it makes a beautiful shot tho lol

  • Thanks Elaine. It took me about 2 hours to dig out the driveway once the snow and wind quit today. I have muscles hurting where I didn’t know I had any….
