In Japan,
You’ll quickly realise
that there isn’t just ‘sushi’,
but there’s also sashimi:
tuna or salmon; raw naked meat
laid out on the plate for you.
Then there’s unagi (eel),
salmon roe,
tako (octopus),
and even the muscle of a clam
all to be had raw.
In Korea,
I’ve had a restaurant speciality,
raw minced beef.
Nothing to write home about.
But back in Japan,
one place went ultra specialised
tori sashimi…
or otherwise known as:
Chicken sashimi.

Hahahaha, you poor thing. I dont mind salmon nigiri, in fact, I LOVE it. But chicken? raw? No thanks.
Great words of warning! Generally I’ll try anything Japanese, but I’ll make sure raw chicken is struck off the list now.
